Terms of use

Last updated 2026-10-10

These terms apply between you and the person who runs Shortlist (named below) when you use the website and its browser extension. By signing in you accept them. How your data is handled is in the privacy policy.

The service

Shortlist estimates how likely you are to be invited to an interview for a job posting, and suggests changes to your CV that only restate what your CV and your own words already say. It is in an invite-only beta: it can change, have errors or be unavailable at times. It is offered free of charge within a free trial; more use can be requested, and any paid use would be agreed separately before it starts.

Who can use it

You must be 16 or older and sign in with your own Google account. Keep one account for yourself and do not share it.

Fair use

Do not use Shortlist to:

Shortlist has limits per hour and per day to keep it running for everyone, and can change them.

Ending

You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings; download your data first if you want a copy. If you break these terms, your access can be suspended or ended. If Shortlist closes, you will be told at least 30 days before, so you can download your data.

Liability

Shortlist is provided as it is, free of charge. As far as the law allows, there is no liability for its estimates and suggestions, for applications that do not lead to an interview, for interruptions or for lost data. Liability for intent and gross negligence, and any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, is not limited.

Changes

These terms can change. The date at the top changes with them, and changes that matter are announced on the site before they apply. Going on using Shortlist after that means you accept them; otherwise you can delete your account.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Basel-Stadt, Switzerland, have jurisdiction. If you use Shortlist as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can also bring a claim before its courts.
